About Rich Baich

Rich is a distinguished business executive and renowned security leader, boasting extensive expertise in information security, risk management, privacy, and technology deployment. With a collaborative approach, Rich has built high-performing teams across corporate, government, professional services, and military sectors globally. A seasoned strategist, he adeptly balances risk management with the development, enhancement, and implementation of information security strategies and cultures.

As the Senior Vice President/Chief Information Security Officer at AT&T, Rich brings a wealth of experience to his role. His illustrious career includes serving as a Naval Information Warfare Officer, Senior Director for Professional Services at Network Associates (now McAfee), and as a Special Assistant to the Deputy Director for the National Infrastructure Protection Center (NIPC) at the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) following 9/11.

Rich’s military tenure spans 20 years, encompassing diverse leadership roles such as Commander in the Information Operations Directorate at NORAD/Northern Command Headquarters, Commanding Officer of Navy Information Operations Center (NIOC) Denver, and Special Assistant at the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO), among others.

In addition to his vast professional accomplishments, Rich is the author of “Winning as a CISO,” a seminal leadership sourcebook for security executives. His contributions to the field have been recognized with accolades such as the “Information Security Executive of the Year in Georgia” award in 2004.

Rich’s expertise has been sought on prestigious platforms, including his selection as an advisor for the President’s Commission on Cybersecurity in 2010.
