John Applegate is the Global Chief Information Officer for KPMG International. As Global CIO, he partners with KPMG global executive leadership to ensure that the technology strategy provides KPMG member firms the internal and client-facing capabilities required to enable a high performance culture and exceptional client service delivery. Having spent a combined 10 years leading international technology initiatives (eight years in EMA and two years in Asia Pacific), John has developed a deep understanding of the issues and opportunities within a global organization. He brings to his role international experience, a “from the ground up” understanding of technology, and a specialization in establishing effective IT governance models to address a range of business situations.
John joined KPMG Consulting in 1997 and was responsible for the Consulting Integration practice of the mid- and southwest regions. He was then appointed as the organizational lead for Consulting Integration and, as such, was asked to participate in a review of KPMG’s worldwide internal IT functions. The outcome of the review was a decision to create KPMG’s first global technology platform to provide services to all member firms.
