The tea brand will launch a campaign called, “Brew the Unexpected” which will include an overnight camp experience for adults and feature drag star, Alyssa Edwards. Camp Tazo will offer an immersive experience to get people out of their comfort zones. The launch will start early 2019.
Honda recently announced a partnership with the technology company focusing on voice-enabled AI, SoundHound. By using “Speech to Meaning” and “Deep Meaning Understanding” technologies, customers will have greater control over their user experience.
During the MLB World Series Game 1, YouTube TV launched two AR ads. These ads showed a video player behind the Green Monster Seats at Fenway Park like it was apart of the ballpark. YouTube TV controls overlapped to resemble a YouTube TV experience and had the tagline, “watch like a fan.”
The company is letting its employees use their personal cell phones for work tasks like clocking in, checking inventory and prices, scanning products and reviewing sales data. The company calls this program, “bring your own device (BYOD)”. Before this, employees were using company phones but said they preferred to use their own.
The menswear brand is teaming up with the startup, Klarna, to help launch flexible-term installment plans so customers are able to pay for their purchases over a 6-36 month period. Along with this collaboration, Indochino also announced a new two-week delivery promise, which cuts down their previous delivery guarantee by one week.
Founder, Chip Wilson, is thinking about returning to the board. Wilson still does have a stake in the company which gives him the power to nominate a member of the Board and his current pick is set to end next year. After some drama with his position with Lululemon, it should be interesting if he returns back.
The think tank and cyber resilience company announced a cross-industry coalition in rethinking cybersecurity approaches. This coalition would bring together some of the biggest companies like Walmart, Microsoft, Scotiabank, Moody’s and Cisco. The partner organizations are committing $85 million to use as funding to create solutions, bring market approaches forward, and promote digital transformation.
CEO, Tim Cook, is calling for a more comprehensive US law around data privacy at Apple. He’s looking at GDPR as an example. We’ll be keeping an eye out for updates.
The responsibilities of the Coca-Cola Company Chief Information Officer is shifting gears. At the start of the new year, current CIO, Barry Simpson, will be adding Enabling Services organization responsibilities to his role. This division is responsible for technical and integrated services governance. There are currently many C-suite changes within the company.
The medical imaging company announced FDA clearance for its OpenSight augmented reality system. This system will be used for preoperative surgical planning and is designed for use with Microsoft HoloLens, a headset with a holographic computer. OpenSight will produce images of patients and overlay them onto the patients body so doctors can see inside for surgical planning.
CMS will offer flexibility in using Medicaid 1332 waivers which encourages states to leverage associated and short term limited duration health plans. This went into effect on Monday and will be helpful for governors as they will be allowed to submit waivers without state legislature approval.
The Scripps Research Translational Institute and NVIDIA are teaming up to leverage AI in genomic and health sensor data. The partnership will aim to prevent diseases by using deep learning with data derived from whole genome sequencing and digital sensors.
