The Millennium Alliance announces Mike Howard as Keynote Speaker at February Transformational CISO Assembly in Las Vegas

The Millennium Alliance is thrilled to announce Mike Howard, Retired Chief Security Officer of Microsoft as Keynote Speaker at the Transformational CISO West Coast Assembly this February 5-6th in Las Vegas, Nevada.

During his 16 years as Former Chief Security Officer of Microsoft Corporation, Mike Howard held global responsibility for vital security functions including operations, investigations, risk mitigation, crisis management and employee awareness. He led the development of Microsoft’s interconnected Global Security Operations Centers which oversee Global Security monitoring and response.

“As physical security entities are moving towards things like biometrics, identity at the edge, frictionless access and other ways to take traditional physical security measures and digitally transform the way we do business, it is critical that we are mapping to what CISOs and their teams are also doing in this new digital world.” Mike Howard

Mike was named one of the most influential people in security by Security 500 in 2010 and 2013, and the #2 Most Influential person in Fire & Security in 2013 by IFSEC. He spent 22 years with the Central Intelligence Agency, finishing as a Chief of Station. Mike also worked in the CIA’s Office of Security and served on the security staff of the Director of Central Intelligence.

He contributes to the field through key roles in numerous industry organizations including CSO Roundtable Advisory Board, International Security Management Association, Security Industry Association and US State Department Overseas Security Advisory Council and Technical Threats and Risk Committee.

“What I am looking forward to most in being the keynote is to learn, especially from Q&A engagement with attendees. I suspect the challenges cybersecurity executives face is the same we faced in my former Global Security organization at Microsoft. It will be good to delve into the similarities and differences in our industry’s respective challenges when we digitally transform ourselves.”

This February, C- level experts from across North America’s cybersecurity industry will join Mike to meet and discuss the highly complex and evolving cybersecurity environment that is currently undergoing rapid development and advancements as the industry plunges further into the digital revolution.
