Down on Music Row: The Transformational CISO Assembly Successfully Takes on Nashville

Last week, The Millennium Alliance held the first cybersecurity event of the year to massive success. From May 9th to the 10th, The Transformational CISO Assembly brought together C-Level executives from all walks of security and IT to an intimate setting in one of the finest hotels in Nashville, kicking May off in a triumphant fashion in the age of digital transformation. Set in the city’s lively West End neighborhood and the heart of Music Row, the Four-Star Hutton Hotel offered guests an immersive journey into Nashville’s creative scene, all while providing a beautiful and grand space for our attendees and team to take advantage of during our event. In only two days, our assembly opened up the floor for conversation, inspired networking opportunities, provided amenities fit for the stars, and launched each attendee into the future of security and IT.

What’s in it for the CISO?

If you were there or if you were not there, one of the best aspects of our event was our content, hands down. With content curated to the needs, wants, and desires of the attendees, we delivered an agenda that covered each trend from the industry, with topics that included “Cloud and IoT: Preparing for the Shift to the Connected Era” to “Enabling Secure Agility: Achieving Security and Compliance Objectives in a DevOps World”.

However, one of our ultimate highlights from the event was the intriguing keynote delivered by Phyllis A. Schneck, the Managing Director and Global Leader of Cyber Solutions at Promontory. With over 15 years of government and private-sector experience in senior cybersecurity positions that includes the Department of Homeland Security, Ms. Schneck went off the script and brought one of the most interesting and captivating keynotes to an enthusiastic audience, who were on the edge of their seats the entire time she was speaking. By weaving not only her expertise but also empowerment, humility, and humor into her keynote address, Ms. Schneck detailed her career in cybersecurity and offered us an insight in the what it takes to be successful in cybersecurity in this day and age, leaving us wanting more the second she ended her almost 40 minute speech.

“The CISO is the one that brings everything all together. But, success is truly based on risk and the technology… that is how you will make it.” – Phyllis A. Schneck speaking on the role of the CISO in the new age of cybersecurity.

The impact of the content was noticeable; each executive that attended enjoyed each presentation and was happily participating in each discussion that they were scheduled to be a part of. Moreover, each meeting between our attending sponsors and delegates was not only successful, it provided long-lasting networking opportunities for each individual or company that they met with.

“Many organizations see security as a nessary evil…the role of the CISO is more important than ever.” – John Pando on the changing leadership role in cybersecurity.

Overall, our content and speakers are what makes our events so popular and worthy of attending for a CISO in today’s age of digitization. Due to the new digital world where we are driven by data, and businesses of all sizes are working tirelessly to secure their networks, devices, and of course, their data, the need to keep up with the industry trends is imperative. CISOs and other security and IT executives need to plan for worst-case scenarios, stay ahead of latest IT Security transformation technology, and maintain their company’s information assets, all without losing sight of the corporate culture. Through attending our Transformational CISO Assembly, it was very easy to see that each executive that attended was able to learn new initiatives and strategies to take back to their organization this year.

You Had to be There…

Our Transformational CISO Assembly surpassed everyone’s expectations and The Hutton Hotel in Nashville provided a space that allowed for connections to be made around every corner while providing a space for open learning and the sharing of knowledge. Furthermore, the generosity of the Hutton Hotel really made an impact on our event; by providing all of us with a delicious breakfast, lunch, and dinner over the course of 2 days along with a wonderful cocktail reception, the attendees and stuff enjoyed our event even further and contentedly awaited each part of our assembly due to the attentiveness of the staff.

Moreover, the content that was selected for this event was carefully planned and aimed to suit the needs of every individual that attended. Without our great content and our great speakers to present it, we would not have an event! We offer a huge thank you to the masterminds behind each session and for teaching all of us something new in the age of digital transformation.

However, all in all, our event in Nashville would not have been possible without every attendee, Millennium Alliance staff, and the Hutton Hotel staff. Everyone was on top of their game and delivered an event for the ages; we never wanted it to end. Again, thank you to everyone who participated: It was an amazing experience to be a part of the Transformational CISO Assembly in Nashville last week, and we hope to see you November 14-15th for the next edition of the CISO Assembly in Miami!

The 6th edition of our Transformational CISO Assembly is open for application. Join industry leaders in Miami to discuss the latest cybersecurity strategies.

In a new digital world, driven by data, businesses of all sizes are working tirelessly to secure their networks, devices, and of course, their data. Fortune 500 organizations are especially vulnerable as they have big data pools and thousands of people who need access. CISOs need to plan for worst-case scenarios, stay ahead of latest IT Security transformation technology, and maintain their company’s information assets, all without losing sight of the corporate culture.
