They say you are only as good as the team that stands besides you. As much as I agree with this point, I also think there are many factors that go along with it. Team collaboration in any company can result in effective performance, a happy culture and an overall successful structure.
In the digital age we live in, there are many different outlets that help push collaboration in an enterprise. I don’t think that there is an issue with the resources we have, I think it comes down to the fact that not every professional in the business world know how to properly take advantage and execute these tools within their culture.
Collaboration Must Begin Somewhere
According to Cisco, a more collaborative environment may take a more simplistic approach in order to be successful. This means using the proper technology in order to carry out employee productivity. Of course, collaboration begins with a mindset but can only be successful if the proper technology is put into place.
“Collaboration technology can bring people together more efficiently. This can lead to increased employee and team productivity, simplified business processes, and improved workflows.” Cisco reports.
If you are a business leader, increased productivity and improved workflows in your company are probably music to your ears. This is why taking advantage of the technology that is out there can result in these factors.
Choose Your Technology
Choosing the proper technology that results in increased collaboration in an effective way can present itself to be a difficult task. In order to make this decision, it is important to understand what kind of technology is out there, the benefits they offer and how to put it into your business structure.
A new report released by Google announces that there will be a new collaboration tool added to Hangout Chats that will be available as a “central function of the G suite.” It will be operated among other G Suite applications and will allow members to upload and collaborate on documents. There will be up to 8,000 members allowed to be active on this feature.
Sharing files and collaborating on documents is a central part of any enterprise. Now, Google has made this easier with its new feature. The Hangouts chat will bring teams together as a service.
“From direct messages to group conversations, Chat helps teams collaborate easily and efficiently. With dedicated, virtual rooms to house projects over time—plus threaded conversations—Chat makes it simple to track progress and follow up tasks.” Google reports.
According to Google, you will be able to:
- “Easily work with other G Suite apps. Upload items from Drive, collaborate on Docs, Sheets or Slides, join online meetings with Hangouts Meet, or use Google’s powerful search to look up room members, past conversations and shared files.
- Use artificial intelligence to speed up workflows. When your teams collaborate in Chat, you can speed up manual work, like booking conference rooms, searching for files and more using artificial intelligence.
- Collaborate with colleagues around the globe. Chat currently supports 28 languages and each room can support up to 8,000 members. It’s available on the desktop for Windows and MacOS, as well as iOS and Android so you can easily collaborate on the go.
- Have peace of mind with embedded security. Chat builds on G Suite’s security-first ecosystem and offers an enterprise-grade solution that’s reliable and compliant. With integrated support for Vault, admins can archive, preserve, search and export Chat-specific data.”
