Earlier this year we became the first company in our industry to offer paid maternity and family leave. Unpaid leave is a huge concern for many expecting parents across the United States. The lack of paid leave causes many challenges, especially for new mothers looking to return to work. One such challenge being the difficulty of balancing the desire to experience a newborn’s precious firsts while ensuring a family’s financial future. Research has shown that the early weeks and months are vital to a child’s development. This is one of many reasons why it is imperative for mothers & fathers to spend adequate time with their newborns, unburdened by concerns about job security or immediate financial obligations. Since its inception, all Millennium Alliance expecting mothers have been guaranteed up to 12 weeks of paid family and medical leave to care for a new child.
